Remember Remember The 5th of November...

Since today is my birthday and as I'm gathering the songs for the my Top 100-150ish favorite songs blog, I thought I'd give the gift of music today with the theme of birthdays. I hope you enjoy! The title of this post comes courtesy from V For Vendetta, one of my favorite books/graphic novels/films. Today in England is Guy Fawkes Day also know as Bonfire Day, when on the 5th of November Guy Fawkes attempted to burn down Parliament. Didn't think you would get a history lesson did ya!

I'm not ashamed to admit it but I love Bjork and I love her first band the Sugarcubes.

This is off their new album "Come Around Sundown" which must people are hating on. Go on and hate haters, this album is great!

Still upset that I missed their show at Buster's like 3 months ago, it still stings a little....

Back again...

So I've decided to start my blog up again now that my life is back to some sort of order. Without further ado...


So my favorite Cure album Disintegration was recently re-released and much to my happiness it include a live disc a ton of b-side. This is a b-side from the "Lovesong" single off that album.

Unfortunately due to my awesome job change (no sarcasm there, I really do love my job), I am unable to hit up Lollapalooza this year and I'm going to miss out on seeing one of my favorite punk bands of all time Social Distortion. Here's a track from my favorite SD album Somewhere Between Heaven.

Best Coast FINALLY released their debut full-length this past week (big ups to my boy Melvin for copping it on vinyl). My wife and I accidentally stumbled upon their show in London, England, and have been fans ever since.

This is one I just got by Japanese Cartoon. Lupe Fiasco has apparently been rumored to be apart of this group but has said he's only a fan. I think he's in it personally. Either way, great track.

Tegan and Sara's last album Sainthood was my personal pick for last year's best album (next to Jay-Z of course). It's been played no stop my iPod ever since. Here's one of my favorite tracks from that album.

Balance & Composure is a band that I found off of a blog. I don't know much about them other than the fact that I think they rule and they remind me of bands I loved from the past. I can't decide who they sound like all I know is that they sound good.
